POEM: The Atheist

Postby seekinghga » Thu Aug 24, 2017 4:58 am

This is one that I wrote a while back.

The Atheist
Dear God that cures the seeker of all doubt,
That claims the righteous unto Thy fount
Of everlasting peace,
That steals the darkness from the eyes of those
Who look Thy way,
Thy infinite grace and attraction plays
Before and dances splendid light
In spirals of ocean bliss to carry a life away
To healing.
My love to Thee, to Thee...
...but I'm just an atheist.

Dear God that reconciles the separated,
That reveals hidden strength and laughter
To bring about the anastylosis of the broken heart...
Thou that turns all minds to beauty
Free of form and separation,
That joins the hands of all the parted
Views, unites them in Thy mercy,
Thou that heals the severed,
My undying love to Thee, to Thee...
"And they that read the book and debated thereon passed into the desolate land of Barren Words. And they that sealed up the book into their blood were the chosen of Adonai, and the Thought of Adonai was a Word and a Deed; and they abode in the Land that the far-off travellers call Naught."
