North Tablet

93s Everyone!

I have a question or two perhaps some of you could help me with:

I am currently painting the Earth Tablet and I have heard many different views as to how the Earth of Earth quadrant is to be painted. So far as I know, the entire tablet itself is black, the crosses are white with black lettering, etc. but when one comes to painting the Earth of Earth, I have heard to use russet with a black background, then I've also heard that one paints the E of E quadrant white with black lettering, then again black with white lettering  . I am not particularly bent towards the G.'.D.'. way of Enochian for reasons that their system is flawed in many places (so I've heard), and I cannot seem to find any coherency online or in print.

Also, I have one more question:

With black backgrounds for at least three of the quadrants, are the letters separated by white lines exclusively, or by lines associated directly with the color sequence of that particular element, meaning red lines for the Fire of Earth, etc.?

Thanks!

The whole approach to coloring that you are describing is wholly traceable to the Golden Dawn. If you don't want to employ their system, then you may want to ignore this coloring approach entirely. John Dee's tablets, for example, had no coloring at all.

Nonetheless, I see no reason to throw out a whole proven system just because of a few fixable errors.

The GD rule for painting the quarters of the tablet is pretty simple: The squares are the color attributed to the Element and the letters are painted in the color of the sub-Element except that, for the root Element of the Tablet, it's sub-Elemental letters are painted in the flashing color. Thus, for Earth, all the squares in the four sub-Elemental quarters are painted black, the letters in upper left are yellow, the letters in upper right are blue, the letters in lower right are red, and the letters in lower left are white (complement of black).

With black backgrounds for at least three of the quadrants, are the letters separated by white lines exclusively, or by lines associated directly with the color sequence of that particular element, meaning red lines for the Fire of Earth, etc.?

That's more of a stylistic touch. I would recommend white.

Fr. Khamael

It's your chosen name, so you, of course, are the arbiter of its spelling. I thought I'd mention, though, in case this name was meant to be that of the archangel of Mars, that the Kaph at the beginning is a hard Kaph - Kamael, not Khamael.

Jim ~

Thanks for the speedy reply!

I am not so much concerned with not using G.'.D.'. as I am doing it correctly. My main resource is Tysons beginner's book, and he tends to take alot of time discrediting their system. Just trying to ensure that I am on the right track.

If I understand correctly then, for example, the Tablet of Water would consist of the following: Air sub-quadrant, yellow letters and blue background; Water sub-quadrant, orange letters and blue background, etc. etc.

As for Khamael, yes, it represents Gevurah and Mars; but thanks for the heads-up, and thanks again for the suggestions, I'll keep them in mind tonight!

The biggest single problem with the GD Enochian system IMHO is that (depending on your exact p.o.v.) they are either not using the correct tablets or, at least, couldn't make up their mind which tablets to use! That's a far bigger issue than coloring since, for example, it determines the actual Names invoked in the hierarchies.

Yes.
