Magical Races for the Bornless Ritual

Postby FiatYod » Fri May 05, 2017 1:05 am

In Liber Samekh, the comment on the line "I am... thy prophet" says:
But in the Ritual let the Adept replace this “Mosheh” by his own motto as Adeptus Minor. For “Ishrael” let him prefer his own Magical Race, according to the obligations of his Oaths to Our Holy Order!

So far, the only Magical Races I've heard of are Ishrael and Khem.
Since I have not been initiated into the A.'.A.'. (let alone take an Oath to the Order), I would like to ask: what Magical Races are there, and how is one to find his own Magical Race?

Thank you.

93,

I can only give you my personal opinion. The further along the path you walk you will notice you are drawn to certain god-forms, cultures, and ideologies moreso than other ones. You will begin to realise that a certain pantheon seems to work better for you than another and seems to inspire the passion needed than another. For Crowley, this was the Egyptian pantheon. Hence mysteries of Khem replacing that of Israel.

If you were more inclined to the Greek pantheon you could rewrite liber samekh to conform to your own preferred mythos and the mysteries of (ancient Greece) or 'Olympus'. If you happen to prefer the Jewish school of thought you would use Israel. Perhaps you are more inclined to Sumerian mythology and Sumer.

How does one find one's magical race? I believe it finds you! Others would equate past life experiences and personal karma to one's inclinations in the current life- that matters little. In my experience it is a natural shift which occurs over time or simply happens. Astral work usually gives hints about this, if you are scrying the path of Peh and are confronted by Aries instead of Horus, perhaps you are more inclined to the Greek pantheon. If you are confronted by Kamael (despite not calling for him) perhaps it is the Hebrew one. Mostly there is just a feeling of rightness, or synchronicity to the matter. When you know, you know!

(I don't speak from a place of authority, nor am I voicing the opinion of any order.).

93, 93/93.

The main thing to remember when adopting a "Magical Race" is that it doesn't matter one bit which one you pick in terms of a hierarchy of beliefs. This probably goes without saying, Liber 777's point is in making this tangible and pragmatic. You want a system of thought which is fluid with the motions of your mind, and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, will ween you off of attachment to this one over any other. The "Magical Race" is a steppingstone to number, the Holy Qabalah, which can take the ruach to its weakest stress-point. Just don't get inextricably attached to any of it!!
"And they that read the book and debated thereon passed into the desolate land of Barren Words. And they that sealed up the book into their blood were the chosen of Adonai, and the Thought of Adonai was a Word and a Deed; and they abode in the Land that the far-off travellers call Naught."

That's what the number stuff is for? Thank you, that just clicked in my head.

Absolutely. Reducing all concepts to number makes them easier to overcome. The utilization of the Holy Qabalah must eventually go beyond "knowing" and make its way towards understanding. See my Psalms of an Aeon #5, #10, #26, and #27 for my own feeble attempts to explain it. We can call the Qabalah "thinking-lite." ;)

The Holy Qabalah is a mode for thought, and DEFINITELY should not be used as a means of accruing a belief system. Its purpose is accuracy through the reduction of multiplicity in conceptualization. Gematria's ultimate worth comes from its knack for headbutting reason... "Let there be no difference made among you between any one thing & any other thing; for thereby there cometh hurt." "Also reason is a lie; for there is a factor infinite & unknown; & all their words are skew-wise." Reason is a lie when there is attachment to it, it is made aright when it is properly seen as just a fluid medium for the conveyance of idea.

What do you mean by "attached", in this particular context? Because I am going to use this for the Bornless Ritual, twice a day...
Is the Magical Race not a constant? Does it change throughout one's life?

I mean that you should use what Works. Nothing more, nothing less. The details are not quite as important as having your mind 100% absorbed in that which the words you are speaking are directed towards. See the chapter on The Lamp in Book 4, part 2.

Is the Magical Race not a constant? Does it change throughout one's life?

Those are questions whose answers will make themselves known to you when/if they need to be known. Since you intend to employ the Bornless Ritual, do recall what Crowley said about the Great Work being "the solution of complexes".

Well wishes to you.
